Nagy Bernadett

Bernadett Nagy is a classical singer, soloist and chamber singer, a member of the Dutch Bach Society and the National Choir. She began her musical studies at the Secondary School of Arts in Szombathely, where she studied solfège and music theory, with private singing and piano as secondary subjects, under the tutelage of Zsuzsa Ecsedi, Ákos Paulik, Krisztina Czeller and József Benkő. In 2002, she was accepted into the Leó Weiner Secondary School of Music in Budapest, where she studied private singing under Éva Lax. In 2004, she graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with a degree in choral conducting and vocal music education, where her teachers included Máté Szabó-Sipos, Péter Erdei, Katalin Komlós and Miklós Szabó. Two years later, in 2006, she studied for four years at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where she received her diploma in private singing in 2010 (her teachers were Sasja Hunnego and Phyllis Ferwerda). In addition, she regularly attends various masterclasses: since 2004, she has participated in the masterclasses of the Old Music Days in Sopron with professors Klára Kolonits, Katalin Halmai, Nancy Argenta, and György Vashegyi, and since 2016, she has attended the masterclasses of artist Krisztina Laki in Budapest.
In 2002, she was accepted into the International Youth Choir, where she was an enthusiastic member, section leader, and soloist for six years. She later continued to perform section leader duties in the World Youth Choir (Frieder Bernius, Tonu Kaljuste, Peter Dijkstra, Grete Pedersen), the National Choir (Csaba Somos) and numerous projects of the Berkshire Choral International (USA) (Heinz Ferlesch, Brian Kay - King’s Singers). She has also worked as a conductor for several amateur choirs in the Netherlands: Eijgenwijs – Gouda, Vocalei – Leiden, Pleasing – The Hague.
She is a regular contributor to the Dutch Bach Society's large-scale "All of Bach" video project, in which the ensemble is recording the complete works of J. S. Bach. Since 2010, she has had the opportunity to perform with the following ensembles, among others: Dutch Bach Society (Shunske Sato, Jos van Veldhoven, Philippe Herreweghe), Collegium 1704, Prague (Václav Luks), Gächinger Kantorei, Stuttgart (Helmuth Rilling), Utrecht Philharmonic Orchestra (Johannes Leertouwer), Budapest Strings (Salamon Kamp), Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (Zoltán Pad), Orfeo Orchestra (György Vashegyi), Savaria Baroque Orchestra (Pál Németh), Gödöllő Symphony Orchestra (Gábor Horváth, Péter Oberfrank), Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Zsolt Hamar).
In addition to her musical career, her dedication to teaching was already evident during her studies. Between 2004 and 2006, she held the position of music literature and music history teacher at the Tóth Aladár Music School (director: Magyar Margit), and since 2010 she has been accepting private singing students. Since 2015, she has been a member of the jury at the Hungarian auditions for the International Youth Choir.
In 2005, she received the Rózsavölgyi Music Store Special Prize at the Ádám Jenő National Singing Competition in Szolnok.
