Kata Koppán was born in Komárom in 2010. She began her musical studies at the Egressy Báni Music School in Komárom, playing the violin. After five years, she switched to the viola, winning numerous county competitions in both solo and chamber music categories. In 2015, she was accepted into the Béla Bartók Music High School to study viola. From then on, she studied under János Láposi. During these five years, she participated in master classes given by Máté Szűcs, Sándor Nagy, Sander Geerts, Mónika Tóth, Soma Dinyés, Péter Bársony and Veronika Botos. She has performed in numerous orchestras under the baton of Ádám Medveczky, Gergely Dubóczky, Maestro Plácido Domingo and Zoltán Bolyki. In terms of chamber music formations, she has played several times at the Solti Hall of the Liszt Academy of Music and at the Institute of Musicology. She also trains himself in masterclasses, having participated in courses led by Pál Banda and Monique Heidema, among others. In 2020, she won the best prize in her category at the National Ödön Pártos Viola Competition. In 2020, she was accepted to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where she studied under Péter Bársony. Her viola MA diploma concert took place on April 1, 2025, at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.

Since 2019, she has been a member of the Virtuosos Chamber Ensemble, with whom she has performed in Dublin, several cities in Canada, and various locations in Hungary, both as an orchestra member and as a soloist. In addition, she has also performed in several venues as the violist of the Sonus Cordis Quartet.
