ATMEN - Rilke 150

8 December 2025. 7:30 pm
Budapest Music Center - Library
1093 Budapest, Mátyás utca 8.

To mark the 150th anniversary of Rainer Maria Rilke's birth, the concert will feature music written to the poet's poems, as well as pieces reflecting Rilke's sensuality and mysticism.
As in Debussy's early songs, Rilke's world shines through in Dai Fujikura's enigmatic Bright Codes for solo piano.
Schoenberg's Am Strand, set to a poem by Rilke, captures the mood of the evening:
"The flood is over / the night wind brings / the memories and the waves / that disappeared in the sand."
Fujikura composed a piece for Greenberg to be performed during the evening, and Károlyi premiered Böttger's songs to Rilke's poems in Switzerland in 2024.
