Mónika Veress was born on December 4, 1985 in Budapest. At the age of four, she became known for singing the Hungarian Radio jingle. She studied at the Erkel Ferenc Singing and Music Elementary School. She was a member of the Hungarian State Opera House Children's Choir and won an award at a foreign festival before she was even 15 years old. As a student at the Angyalföld Youth Theater and Drama School, she also stood out for her acting talent. In 1996, she was the host of Szív TV's pop music show (Tök Jó Show). In 1998, she released her first maxi single, Jó dili a nyár, but it was the song Papa, ne félts that brought her real success.
She is currently an active singer and vocal coach. She has performed with the country's most renowned musicians and has worked with artists such as Adrienn Zsédenyi, Dóra Szinetár, Tamás Palcsó, Mónika Hoffmann, Attila Kaszás, Bálint Gájer, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Zoltán Bereczki. In 2001 she received the eMeRTon award as Teen Singer of the Year. In 2004, she was accepted into the pop music school of the Hungarian Pop Music and Dance Arts Union. In 2006 she landed the lead role in the musical 56 Csepp Vér (56 Drops of Blood). She has appeared several times as a vocalist on the talent show Megasztár. In 2011 she received a Fonogram Award in the category of Collaborating Musician of the Year. She has appeared on several television shows (Megasztár, Sztárban Sztár, The Voice, Eurovision Song Contest, Nagy duett). From 2023 she played one of the leading roles in the musical Six at the Madách Theater. She is a two-time Fonogram Award winner. In 2025 she received the Artisjus Performing Artist Award.
